England have been docked two World Test Championship points for their slow over rate during the third Test match against India at Lord’s, which England won by 22 runs to go 2-1 up in the five-match series. With the latest development, England have slipped from second to third in the World Test Championship standings, behind Australia and Sri Lanka. Additionally, England were also fined 10% of their match fee.

“According to Article 2.22 of the ICC code of conduct for players and player support personnel, which relates to minimum over-rate offences, players are fined five per cent of their match fee for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time," the ICC said in statement.

The fourth Test will begin on July 23 in Manchester. England have already named their squad for the fourth Test, bringing in Liam Dawson in place of injured Shoaib Bashir, who has been ruled out of the series.
