England include Jamie Overton in squad for fifth Test against India

England have added all-rounder Jamie Overton to their squad for the fifth and final Test against India, set to start on July 31 at The Oval. Overton's inclusion will boost England's pace artillery that already features the likes of Jofra Archer, Chris Woakes, Josh Tongue, Gus Atkinson and Brydon Carse. So far, Overton has only played one Test in his career, which came way back in 2022. His inclusion largely comes on the heels of Ben Stokes' injury in the fourth Test in Manchester.

However, Stokes maintained it would be "very unlikely" he will miss out at The Oval. Meanwhile, England are currently leading the series 2-1, and the fifth Test will be very crucial for them to win in order to claim the series.
