Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj has been handed a fine of 15 per cent of his match fee for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during day four of the ongoing third Test against England at Lord’s. The fine follows Siraj’s fiery send-off to England batter Ben Duckett after he dismissed him on day four (Sunday) at Lord’s. Siraj, after dismissing Duckett, celebrated aggressively before roaring in his face.

Siraj was found guilty of breaching Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match.”

Additionally, one demerit point has been added to Siraj’s disciplinary record, as it was Siraj’s second offence in 24 months, resulting in two demerit points for him. Notably, players who earn four or more demerit points within a 24-month period face suspension. Talking about the match, India need 135 runs to win the third game to lead the five-match series 2-1, while England need six wickets to claim victory.
